Wave Editor is a powerful audio editor developed in Cocoa that uses OS X features such as Core Audio and Quartz. It includes a unique and patent-pending layering system. You can add as many layers as you want. Each has its own effects and fades that are processed in real time. Properties such as the bit depth, the number of channels, and sampling frequency can differ according to layers.
Just like DPS (digital signal processor), it uses iZotope, which has the best frequency and time stretch conversion in the industry.
Wave Editor also includes a clever editing system that lets you split the audio into sections. You can edit multichannel audio files without having to separate them first and allows you to draw Bezier curve-based fades. Supported audio formats include: MP3, AAC, FLAC, Apple Lossless, Ogg Vorbis, and so on.
